Armenia tourism grows as Touring Club Italiano releases new guide

Armenia is experiencing a rise in international tourism, with over 2.26 million visitors in 2025, a 2.5% increase from the previous year. Growth has accelerated in 2026, with a 14.8% increase in arrivals during the first half of the year.

To support this growth, the Touring Club Italiano has released its first Guida Verde dedicated to Armenia. The guide highlights the country's medieval monasteries, the Caucasus Mountains, rural villages, and the cultural and gastronomic scene in Yerevan. The Armenian government aims to reach three million annual tourists through increased infrastructure investment and international promotion.

The Italian market shows significant interest, with 22,669 Italian visitors in 2025, marking a 40.7% increase. Direct flights from Rome, Milan, and Venice to Yerevan are contributing to this trend. Tourism offerings are expanding beyond religious and archaeological sites to include trekking, nature excursions, and culinary tours.
