Ukraine President Zelenskyy Urges Faster Anti‑Missile Aid After Deadly Russian Strike
A Russian missile barrage on Kyiv and surrounding areas killed at least 17 people and caused extensive damage to civilian infrastructure. Ukrainian authorities reported that 115 missiles were launched, of which 28 were unguided, and none of the incoming missiles were intercepted by Ukraine's air‑defence systems. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called on allied partners to accelerate the delivery of anti‑missile protection, warning that the lack of such systems contributed to the casualties.
The attack targeted warehouses, rail facilities and other civilian assets, damaging major Ukrainian companies such as the DIY retailer Epicenter, the online marketplace Rozetka, and the logistics firm Nova Poshta, which reported damage to a sorting centre. Zelenskyy stressed that the strikes were aimed at civilian infrastructure and described them as acts of terror, urging immediate support to prevent further loss of life.
