Armenia’s delegation active at UN High‑Level Political Forum 2026

Armenia’s permanent representative, Ambassador Paruyr Hovhannisyan, chaired discussions on clean energy, sustainable communities and Small Island Developing States, and presented several voluntary national reviews at the United Nations Economic and Social Council’s High‑Level Political Forum (HLPF) for 2026.

He also spoke on accelerating SDG implementation for middle‑income countries, highlighted the interlinkage of the Rio conventions, and reaffirmed Armenia’s commitment as the upcoming host of the 17th meeting of the Convention on Biological Diversity Conference of Parties (CBD COP17), aiming to advance biodiversity, climate action and land management. The forum will continue next week with a ministerial segment to assess progress on the 2030 Agenda.
