Armenia’s intelligence chief attends security forum in Baku

Kristinne Grigoryan, the director of Armenia’s Foreign Intelligence Service, traveled to Baku to attend the 4th Baku Security Forum. This visit represents a rare instance of a senior Armenian security official traveling to Azerbaijan following decades of conflict between the two nations.

The forum, organized by Azerbaijan’s State Security Service, focuses on global security architecture and cooperation against terrorism. It has hosted approximately 600 delegates from over 100 countries and international organizations. During the event, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev advocated for increased information sharing and closer professional ties among security agencies to address emerging threats.

This diplomatic movement occurs as Armenia and Azerbaijan continue efforts toward normalization and the deepening of direct contacts. Grigoryan’s attendance follows a similar visit by Armenia’s National Security Service director in September 2025.
