Armidale road train collision results in fatal injury
A 67-year-old man has died in the hospital following a two-vehicle collision involving a road train and a Mazda sedan in Armidale. The accident occurred shortly after 5:00 am on August 2 at a roundabout on Endeavour Drive, located on the New England Highway.
Paramedics treated the driver for serious head injuries before transferring him from Armidale Hospital to John Hunter Hospital for specialist assessment. Police were notified of his death on the evening of August 10. The driver of the Kenworth road train, also a man in his 60s, underwent a roadside breath test which yielded a negative result. An investigation is ongoing, and a report will be prepared for the coroner.
