Balkan athletes prepare for European Athletics and Aquatics Championships

Athletes from across the Balkan region are preparing for various European championships.

In Birmingham, the 27th European Athletics Championships feature several competitors. Serbian athletes include sprinter Darijo Bašić Palković, who recently set personal records in the 100m and 200m, long jumper Milica Gardašević, shot putter Armin Sinančević, and triple jumper Ivana Španović. Bosnia and Herzegovina is represented by shot putter Mesud Pezer, who aims to reach the final despite arriving without his coach due to visa issues.

In swimming, the European Aquatics Championships in Paris will feature Croatian swimmers, led by Jere Hribar, as the team seeks to break a decade-long medal drought in 50-meter pool events.
