Armoni Brooks Targeted by Real Madrid and Valencia Basket in European Transfer Race

Real Madrid has emerged as the frontrunner in the pursuit of American guard Armoni Brooks, who is set to leave France's ASVEL Villeurbanne after the club slashed its budget from €59 million to €24 million. Brooks, 28, averaged 13.1 points and 3.5 rebounds last season with Olimpia Milano and previously played in the NBA for the Rockets, Raptors and Nets.

Valencia Basket is also in advanced negotiations for Brooks, joining a shortlist that includes Serbian clubs Partizan and Crvena Zvezda and Israel's Maccabi Tel Aviv. The Spanish club faces a potential non‑EU player limit, as Real Madrid can register only two foreign players in the ACB, which could affect the deal if Gabriel Deck does not obtain a Spanish passport. Both Spanish teams see Brooks as a versatile scorer who could strengthen their perimeter offense for the upcoming season.
