ARMSX3 emulator brings PlayStation 3 emulation to Android via Google Play

The ARMSX3 emulator, which enables PlayStation 3 game emulation on Android devices, has officially launched on the Google Play Store. Previously available only via GitHub, the open-source project is based on the RPCS3 computer emulator and is optimized for ARM64 processors.

Due to the high computational demands of PS3 emulation, the application has specific hardware requirements. Minimum specifications include Android 11 or higher, a 64-bit ARMv8.1 processor (such as a Snapdragon 865 or 870), 8 GB of RAM, and a GPU supporting Vulkan 1.1 (Adreno 650 or Mali-G57 or higher). This setup is intended for lighter titles.

For improved performance and compatibility with more demanding games, developers recommend devices equipped with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 or newer, 12 GB of RAM, and an Adreno 740 GPU. The ideal configuration involves the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, Adreno 830 GPU, and at least 12 GB of RAM, ideally paired with active cooling. Users must also download the PS3 system software separately to use the emulator.
