Army defeats Tulsa 38-35 with last-second field goal

Army secured a 38-35 victory over Tulsa on Friday night following a 50-yard field goal by Dawson Jones on the final play of the game. Jones also contributed a career-long 51-yard field goal in the first quarter.

Army quarterback Cale Hellums recorded 121 rushing yards and three touchdowns on 30 carries, while Godspower Nwawuihe added 135 rushing yards and a score. Tulsa's Baylor Hayes threw for 262 yards, including a 13-yard touchdown pass to Jimmy Calloway that briefly gave the Golden Hurricane a lead late in the fourth quarter.

After Tulsa tied the game at 28-all, Army's David Jakande blocked a punt, setting up a 1-yard touchdown run by Hellums to tie the score at 35-35 with 1:50 remaining. Jones' subsequent field goal clinched the win for the Black Knights.
