Army Marshal Sara Roba killed in fatal collision on Via Aurelia
Sara Roba, a 31-year-old Army Marshal, died following a head-on collision on the Via Aurelia near Albenga, Italy. The accident occurred late on Monday, August 10, around 11:30 PM.
According to preliminary investigations, Roba was traveling on a scooter toward Ceriale when she collided with an automobile traveling in the opposite direction near a Piaggio dealership. Despite over thirty minutes of intensive resuscitation efforts by emergency medical services, she succumbed to her injuries at the scene.
Roba was a respected member of the military, having served with the 2nd Alpini Regiment in Cuneo, where she had previously commanded a patrol. The Mayor of Albenga, Riccardo Tomatis, issued a statement expressing deep condolences to her family and loved ones. The Highway Police are currently investigating the exact dynamics and responsibilities regarding the crash.
