Army personnel arrested for alleged murder of wife in Punjab

An army soldier, Amarjeet Singh, has been arrested in the Hoshiarpur district of Punjab for the alleged murder of his wife, Rama. The incident occurred on the night of August 13 in Sunehra village while Singh was home on leave.

According to family members, Singh initially claimed that Rama had accidentally fallen from the roof of their residence. However, when the family arrived at Hajipur Hospital, they observed significant trauma and injuries on her body, leading them to suspect foul play. The victim's family also reported a history of domestic violence during the marriage.

Police have registered a case against Singh and two relatives, Kuldeep (also known as Kuki) and Sonia, for allegedly aiding in the concealment of the crime. While Singh is in custody, authorities are actively searching for the other two suspects. A post-mortem examination has been conducted as part of the ongoing investigation.
