Army veteran Sean Michael Lee dies at 50

Army veteran and paratrooper Sean Michael Lee has died at the age of 50 following a battle with esophageal cancer. Lee served more than 20 years in the U.S. Army, including deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan with the 82nd Airborne Division.

Following his military career, Lee dedicated himself to humanitarian efforts in global conflict zones. During the 2021 collapse of Afghanistan, he worked with the nonprofit Save Our Allies to help evacuate thousands of Afghan allies. After the Russian invasion of Ukraine, he assisted in establishing aid stations and supply lines from Poland.

Lee played a critical role in the medical extraction of Fox News correspondent Benjamin Hall, who was severely wounded during a Russian attack near Kyiv in March 2022. In his later years, Lee continued his service by supporting wounded veterans through the Independence Fund.
