Arnaldo Pomodoro photographic exhibition to open in Soliera
To mark the centenary of artist Arnaldo Pomodoro's birth, a new photographic exhibition titled ‘Arnaldo Pomodoro, un racconto fotografico’ will be held at Castello Campori in Soliera, Modena. The exhibition, curated by Andrea Tinterri and Ilaria Sgaravatto, is scheduled to run from October 10 to January 10.
The showcase features a selection of 100 original prints from the Arnaldo Pomodoro Foundation archive, produced between the 1960s and 1990s. These photographs, captured by artists such as Ugo Mulas, Maria Mulas, and Gianfranco Gorgoni, document the creative process and the transformation of matter into sculpture.
In addition to the archival prints, the exhibition includes three sculptural works: ‘Disco solare’ (1989-1990), studies for the ‘Progetto per il nuovo cimitero di Urbino’ (1973), and ‘The Pietrarubbia group’ (1975). The display aims to highlight the relationship between Pomodoro's work and public or gallery spaces, including historical documentation of his sculptures interacting with the public in urban settings.
