Turkish municipalities conclude diverse summer youth and sports programs
Various municipalities and organizations across Turkey have concluded diverse summer programs focused on youth development, sports, and education.
In Konya, the Metropolitan Municipality completed its 2nd Sports Schools Olympics, where 1,500 athletes selected from 12,180 students competed across 11 branches. In Karatay, 3,670 participants completed training in 12 different sports disciplines. Meanwhile, Turgutlu saw approximately 2,000 children participate in sports and arts courses.
Educational initiatives also saw success, with Bursa Metropolitan Municipality reporting that 562 students successfully placed in universities following free exam preparation courses.
In Mersin, landscape architecture students participated in the 16th PMOGenç Summer Camp, developing climate-resilient and water-efficient design projects for the Müftü Deresi Life Valley.
In the realm of competitive sports, the Tour of Samsun 2026 international cycling race commenced with 107 athletes from 23 countries. Additionally, the Ahal Teke Equestrian Facilities in Ankara held a launch for the August 30 Victory Cup, an equestrian event aimed at engaging youth with horse riding and celebrating national history.
