Arne Engels set to join West Ham from Celtic

Celtic manager Martin O'Neill said the club is resigned to losing midfielder Arne Engels to a financially stronger West Ham United. The 22‑year‑old Belgian has been tracked by the English club for 18 months and a verbal agreement has been reached, with West Ham preparing a bid reported to be around £20 million.

Celtic, however, insists on a much higher fee. The Scottish side previously turned down a €25 million offer and is demanding a “jackpot” amount before finalising the deal. Negotiations between the two clubs continue as West Ham seek to complete the transfer before the new season begins.
