Arne Slot joins UEFA Technical Observer Group

Former Liverpool manager Arne Slot has returned to professional football after joining UEFA’s Technical Observer Group for the 2026/27 season. This marks his first role since being dismissed by Liverpool in May 2026 following a fifth-place finish in the Premier League.

Slot will work alongside 35 other football experts to monitor the Champions League, Europa League, and Conference League. The group utilizes statistical data and video footage to analyze tactical developments, coaching trends, and individual performances. Their findings are compiled into technical reports shared with the global football community to provide insights into the evolution of the sport.

Slot’s tenure at Liverpool included winning the club’s 20th Premier League title in his first season after succeeding Jürgen Klopp. He joins a group of high-profile observers that includes figures such as Erik ten Hag, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Frank de Boer, Rafa Benítez, and Roberto Martínez.
