Arnhem court hears case regarding Vitesse-Ajax match violence

Three men appeared in an Arnhem court regarding a violent incident that occurred in the city center following a Vitesse-Ajax football match in May 2024. The suspects, identified as K. from Haarlem (36), N. from IJmuiden (33), and W. from Zandvoort (29), stated they were in Arnhem as guests of a local friend.

The violence reportedly escalated on the Korenmarkt after a Vitesse supporter struck a man. According to court proceedings, the suspects were subsequently targeted by a group of Vitesse supporters. One suspect reported being attacked from all sides and sustained an eye injury from an iron bar. The prosecution alleged that the suspects also engaged in violence, including kicking a man while he was on the ground and delivering a punch to the head.
