Arnhem hosts new and returning musical jam sessions
Arnhem is hosting several recurring musical jam sessions this autumn, providing platforms for musicians of all skill levels to perform and improvise.
Starting October 1, the Ketelhuis will host ‘Jazz in Sonsbeek’ on the first Thursday of every month. Organized by Ronald Douglas and Hans Kwakkernaat, these sessions focus on vocalists ranging from amateurs to professionals. The program covers various jazz styles, including Swing, Bossa Nova, and Be-Bop, with instrumentalists also welcome to participate.
Additionally, the MonkeyJam season begins on September 23 at Café Bosch. Held nearly every fourth Wednesday of the month, these sessions emphasize improvisation and original music, with a strict rule against playing covers. Organized by Monkey Movement in collaboration with local institutions, the event aims to foster musical connections across different generations and styles.
