Arnhem hosts successful second DataBalk Chess Festival

The second annual DataBalk Chess Festival was held at the Rozet cultural center in Arnhem, featuring a diverse program of chess-related activities. Sponsored by DataBalk, the event included simultaneous exhibitions, rapid chess tournaments, lectures, and demonstrations such as blindfold chess.

Participants engaged in various activities across multiple floors, including computer chess provided by the Computer SchaakVereniging Nederland (CSVN) and an exhibition by the Max Euwe Centrum, the national chess museum. Grandmasters and masters, including Max Warmerdam and Erwin l’Ami, participated in speed chess sessions. The festival aimed to re-engage the public with chess clubs in the Arnhem region.
