Arnold Schwarzenegger attorneys seek extra security for upcoming trial

Attorneys for Arnold Schwarzenegger have requested increased security and strict courtroom protocols ahead of a trial regarding a 2022 traffic accident. The legal action follows a social media post by the plaintiff’s attorney, Gary A. Dordick, which featured a photograph of Dordick styled after Schwarzenegger’s ‘Terminator’ character.

The lawsuit, filed by Cheryl Augustine in Beverly Hills Superior Court, alleges Schwarzenegger was negligent during a January 2022 collision involving his SUV and several other vehicles. While Schwarzenegger has conceded negligence, he is disputing the amount of damages sought by Augustine, who claims the accident caused life-altering injuries.

Schwarzenegger’s legal team has asked Judge Edward B. Moreton, Jr. to implement management and security protocols, including restrictions on photography, video, and audio recording. They also requested that the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department coordinate the actor’s arrival and departure, arguing that the opposing counsel’s social media advertisement publicized the specific time and location of Schwarzenegger’s expected testimony to a massive online audience.
