Arnsberg begins construction of 400,000-euro skatepark

Construction has begun on a new 400,000-euro skatepark in the Sport-Sole-Park in Hüsten, Arnsberg. The project is part of a larger renovation effort in the area, which includes 2.9 million euros from a federal program for municipal facility renovation and approximately 3.1 million euros in municipal funds currently being used for the Große Wiese stadium.

The new 900-square-meter skatepark will be constructed using cast-in-place concrete on a green space near the artificial turf pitch and the Finnbahn. The site previously housed the Fürstenberg family forest house, which was demolished prior to planning. The project was designed by L2 Architekten and will be executed by the firm Karma from Warburg. Mayor Ralf Paul Bittner stated that the project aims to meet the needs and wishes of local youth regarding leisure and sports activities.
