Arona hosts week of celebrations for San Carlo Borromeo

The city of Arona will host a week of events from November 1 to November 8 to celebrate San Carlo Borromeo. The program includes guided tours, walking paths, and religious celebrations centered around the monumental Statue of San Carlo, which stands over 35 meters tall overlooking Lake Maggiore.

On Tuesday, November 4, the anniversary of San Carlo Borromeo, the statue will offer special entry tickets for 3 euros. Activities for that day include a guided tour at 15:00 and a Holy Mass at the Church of San Carlo at 17:00.

On Saturday, November 7, a guided walk titled ‘I luoghi di San Carlo’ will take place at 10:30. The 2-kilometer route will start from the Collegiata della Natività di Maria and pass through San Carlino and Piazza del Popolo before concluding at the statue.

This event marks the final opening of the 2026 season for the monument; the statue will close to visitors after November 8, reopening during the December holidays.
