ARPA-H awards $7.3 million to team including CaseBioscience
CaseBioscience has joined a multidisciplinary team led by Likarda that was awarded up to $7.3 million by the Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H). The funding is part of the BioStabilization Systems (BoSS) program, which aims to develop technologies for the production, storage, and transport of cells at room temperature.
The Reversible Ambient Biostabilization (RAB) team, one of only three selected for the program, seeks to reduce reliance on complex and costly cold-chain logistics. By integrating bioengineering and novel cell-protective strategies, the team intends to make advanced biological medicines as easy to ship and store as aspirin.
The collaborative effort includes CaseBioscience, Draper, CPSI Biotech, Fresenius Kabi, Likarda, MiNK Therapeutics, and the Spencer Laboratory at the University of Colorado Boulder. The initial 15-month phase of the project began on September 24, 2026.
