Arrascaeta undergoes wrist surgery after injury with Uruguay
Flamengo midfielder Arrascaeta has undergone surgery to repair a fractured left wrist sustained while playing for the Uruguay national team. The injury occurred during a match against South Korea, where the player slipped and placed his weight on his hand.
The surgical procedure involved bone repositioning and the installation of a plate and screws. Medical staff at Flamengo estimate a recovery period of six to eight weeks. Due to the nature of the fracture, the player requires immobilization from the axilla to the wrist, which precludes him from playing with protective gear.
Arrascaeta is expected to miss several key matches, including upcoming fixtures in the Brasileirão against Santos, Fluminense, Bahia, Atlético-MG, Vasco, and Grêmio, as well as Copa Libertadores matches against Estudiantes. Depending on the recovery timeline, he may also miss games against Athletico-PR and Palmeiras.
