Arrmanatha Nasir appointed Indonesia's new Foreign Minister

President Prabowo Subianto has conducted a significant cabinet reshuffle, most notably appointing career diplomat Arrmanatha Christiawan Nasir as the new Minister of Foreign Affairs. Arrmanatha, who previously served as Deputy Foreign Minister, succeeds Sugiono, who has been reassigned as the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture.

The reshuffle includes several other high-level appointments. Dudung Abdurachman has been named Coordinating Minister for Political and Security Affairs, replacing Djamari Chaniago. Bahlil Lahadalia will serve as the Coordinating Minister for Downstreaming and Energy Transition while retaining his current energy portfolio. Additionally, Mohamad Sarmuji has been appointed Minister of Industry, replacing Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita.

In a separate move, Suahasil Nazara has been appointed Finance Minister, replacing Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa. This follows a previous minor reshuffle in mid-September. Analysts suggest Arrmanatha's appointment may lead to a more assertive diplomatic approach for Indonesia, focusing on regional stability and multilateralism.
