Arsenal to sign Blackburn Rovers forward Igor Tyjon

Arsenal has reached an agreement with Blackburn Rovers to sign 18-year-old forward Igor Tyjon, ending an 18-month pursuit of the player. The deal is reportedly worth up to £3.2 million, consisting of £1.2 million paid upfront and up to £2 million in performance-related add-ons. The agreement also includes a 20 percent sell-on clause for Blackburn.

Tyjon, who has represented England at the U16, U17, and U18 levels as well as Poland at the U16 level, is scheduled to undergo a medical before finalizing the move. The versatile attacker, capable of playing as a centre-forward, attacking midfielder, or winger, is expected to join Arsenal's Under-21 squad while training with the first team.

The transfer follows a period of tension between the player and Blackburn, during which Tyjon declined to sign a professional contract with the Championship club. The resolution of the deal avoids a potential intervention by the Professional Football Negotiating and Consultative Committee.
