Arsenal and Crystal Palace pursue new signings ahead of Premier League season

Arsenal have completed the signing of winger Christos Tzolís and are now in advanced negotiations with Newcastle United for Brazilian midfielder Bruno Guimarães. An initial £55 million offer was rejected, and a higher bid has also been turned down, although the player is reported to have agreed personal terms with Arsenal and is willing to move.

Crystal Palace have submitted a €25 million offer to German club Augsburg for defender Chrislain Matsi to fill the gap left by Maxence Lacroix, who transferred to Chelsea for around £52 million. Augsburg rejected the proposal, leaving Palace to continue searching for defensive reinforcements before the new season starts.
