Arsenal and Newcastle United drive major Premier League transfer activity

Following the £75m transfer of midfielder Bruno Guimaraes from Newcastle United to Arsenal, several developments have emerged regarding player movements in the Premier League.

Real Madrid reportedly declined an opportunity to sign Arsenal midfielder Martin Zubimendi this summer. Despite Arsenal's desire to command a fee of at least €80 million, the Spanish club's football department concluded that Zubimendi was not at the level required for Real Madrid. Reports suggest the decision was influenced by a perceived decline in his performance during the final months of the season, where he lost his starting position to Myles Lewis-Skelly.

Meanwhile, Newcastle United is looking to reinvest funds following the departures of Guimaraes, Anthony Gordon to Barcelona, and Sandro Tonali to Tottenham Hotspur. Newcastle has already recruited Bazoumana Toure, Aladji Bamba, and Sean Steur. The club is now reportedly considering a triple signing raid, with interest in Manchester City forward Omar Marmoush, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg from Marseille, and Joao Palhinha from Bayern Munich.
