Arsenal cancels trophy lift at parade as half‑million fans expected

Arsenal's open‑top bus parade scheduled for Sunday will not feature a trophy lift at the end of the route. The Arsenal Supporters’ Trust and police estimates anticipate between 500,000 and one million spectators lining the nine‑kilometre course through London, prompting safety concerns about crowd concentration.

To disperse the crowd, the club has planned a two‑hour parade with three buses and will keep the Armoury closed on the day. The women's team will also take part to celebrate their FIFA Champions Cup win. Organisers apologized to supporters travelling to Budapest for the Champions League final, noting that a large gathering could not be held on a working day.

The decision marks a departure from previous celebrations that included a direct trophy lift in front of fans, but officials said it is necessary to ensure public safety.
