Arsenal Champions League prospects questioned by analysts

Former players Paul Merson and Steve McManaman have expressed skepticism regarding Arsenal’s ability to win the UEFA Champions League this season.

Merson argued that while the squad is strong enough to challenge for the Premier League title, the club lacks an “X factor” signing in their attacking line to compete with Europe’s elite. He noted that despite interest in high-profile forwards like Vinicius Junior and Julian Alvarez, Arsenal failed to secure a marquee player who could provide the individual brilliance required for knockout football.

McManaman also excluded Arsenal from his list of favorites, instead pointing to defending champions PSG and Spanish side Barcelona as the primary contenders. Following a 1-0 victory over Napoli secured by Martin Odegaard, Arsenal remains in strong form, but analysts suggest they may struggle to overcome the depth and scoring power of the tournament's top-tier clubs.
