Arsenal coach Renée Slegers receives board support amid poor form

Arsenal head coach Renée Slegers has expressed her gratitude for the support of the club’s leadership following a period of poor results. Despite winning only one of her last five matches, Slegers stated that the board and senior staff, including CEO Rich Garlick and director of football Clare Wheatley, have provided “superb” leadership and encouragement.

Arsenal currently face a challenging period in the Women’s Super League, trailing league leaders Manchester City by seven points. The team has struggled offensively, scoring only twice in four league matches. Slegers also addressed a recent midweek Women’s Champions League draw against Paris FC, where she chose to remain with her squad during an emotional moment rather than addressing the media.

The coach is now preparing her side for a pivotal upcoming match against Manchester City, who currently hold a perfect record in the WSL this season.
