Arsenal Fans Club Nigeria to be unveiled in Abuja

Arsenal Fans Club Nigeria is scheduled to be officially unveiled in Abuja this weekend. The launch aims to expand the Nigerian supporter base for Arsenal Football Club and promote community development through football.

The two-day program begins on Friday, October 16, with the organization’s second Annual General Meeting. Saturday’s activities include aerobic sessions, a novelty football match, and a clean-up campaign at Wuse Market, where the club will donate sanitation materials and refuse bins.

National President Charles Ojugbana stated that the initiative is inspired by the success of Arsenal players of Nigerian descent, including Kanu Nwankwo, Bukayo Saka, Noni Madueke, and Eberechi Eze. The event is expected to host various prominent figures, such as former Senate President Bukola Saraki and the Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi.

The non-profit organization utilizes a digital membership database and a governance structure consisting of a Board of Trustees, a National Executive Committee, and a General Assembly. Future philanthropic goals include awareness campaigns for children with Down syndrome.
