Arsenal focus on Bruno Guimaraes as top midfield signing target

Former Arsenal midfielder Stefan Schwarz told Sports Mole that the club should prioritize signing Newcastle captain Bruno Guimaraes rather than Lille's Ayyoub Bouaddi. Schwarz highlighted Guimaraes' energy, technical skill and creativity as a good fit for Mikel Arteta’s side, noting the Brazilian’s strong World Cup showing and his 15 goal involvements in the previous Premier League season.

At the same time, ex‑Manchester United defender Patrice Evra urged Arsenal to consider French World Cup midfielder Manu Kone, arguing the 25‑year‑old possesses the physicality and ball‑winning ability needed in the Premier League. Both former players emphasised the importance of bolstering Arsenal’s central midfield as the club prepares to defend the league title next season.
