Arsenal in talks with Liverpool over striker Vincent Joseph
Arsenal has reached an agreement with 16-year-old England youth international striker Vincent Joseph to join the club from Liverpool. Following the expiration of his schoolboy registration contract and his decision not to sign scholarship terms at Anfield, Arsenal and Liverpool are currently negotiating a fee settlement.
Because Joseph is under 24 and has not signed a professional contract, the compensation fee will be decided by a tribunal if the two clubs cannot reach a mutual agreement. The Professional Football Compensation Committee will consider factors such as his age, playing record, and the status of both clubs. Joseph has recorded eight goals in nine appearances for England’s under-16 side.
In a broader push for academy talent, Arsenal is also set to complete the signings of Mylo Bernard, 16, from Crystal Palace, and Axel Donczew from Cardiff City. Donczew notably holds the record as the youngest player to represent Cardiff’s first team.
