Arsenal maintains league lead with victory over River Plate

Arsenal maintained its position at the top of the championship standings following a 1-0 victory over River Plate. The match was significantly impacted early on when River Plate goalkeeper Martín Núñez was issued a red card for handling the ball outside the penalty area in the 9th minute.

Following the dismissal, River Plate was forced to field Tiago Silva as an improvised goalkeeper. Despite playing with ten men for the majority of the match, River Plate managed to maintain a defensive structure that prevented Arsenal from capitalizing on their numerical advantage during the first half.
