Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta outlines plan to retain Premier League title
Mikel Arteta said Arsenal must make "excellence" their standard as they aim to defend the Premier League title they won after a 22‑year wait. The manager highlighted the need for ambition in the transfer market, naming Real Madrid forward Vinicius Junior, Atletico Madrid striker Julian Álvarez and Newcastle midfielder Bruno Guimarães as targets. Arteta also noted the squad’s return from pre‑season in Spain, where they will face Girona, and emphasized the renewed energy and commitment of players returning from the World Cup.
He stressed that daily discipline, ambition and positive energy over the next 11 months will put Arsenal in a strong position for May, as they seek another deep Champions League run and a repeat of their domestic success.
