Declan Rice nearing new long-term contract with Arsenal
Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice is reportedly close to agreeing on a new long-term contract with the club. Negotiations are said to be at an advanced stage, following months of discussions that began in March.
Since joining Arsenal from West Ham United in July 2023 for £105 million, the 27-year-old has become a central figure in the squad, helping the team secure a Premier League title. The new deal is expected to include a significant salary increase, potentially raising his weekly wages from approximately £240,000 to around £350,000, bringing him on par with teammate Bukayo Saka.
The move to secure Rice comes shortly after manager Mikel Arteta committed his future to the club with a new four-year contract. Securing the England international is viewed as a key step in Arsenal's strategy to maintain a stable and competitive core for future seasons.
