Arsenal nears signings of Manchester United youth players
Arsenal is nearing the completion of two free transfers from Manchester United to bolster its Under-21 squad. Habeeb Ogunneye, a youth right-back, has already undergone a medical with the club.
James Scanlon, a winger who has earned 24 senior caps for Gibraltar, is also expected to finalize a move to Arsenal within the next 48 hours. While Scanlon will initially join the Under-21 side, he intends to work toward breaking into the first team. Both deals are structured as free transfers, though Manchester United is reportedly set to benefit from significant sell-on clauses in both contracts.
Both players will be coached by David Horseman, the former Manchester United academy coach who now leads Arsenal’s Under-21 team. The signings represent a strategic effort by Arsenal to strengthen its youth development pipeline.
