Arsenal prepares record offer for striker Joaquín Álvarez

Arsenal are preparing a historic, potentially record‑breaking bid to sign Argentine forward Joaquín Álvarez from Atlético Madrid during the current summer transfer window. The club is locked in a fierce competition with Barcelona, which also wants the player. Arsenal’s sporting director Andrea Berta has been in constant contact with Álvarez’s representatives and says a formal offer will only be submitted once the striker confirms his willingness to return to the Premier League.

The proposed fee could exceed the £125 million English‑record set by Alexander Isak’s move to Liverpool. Arsenal are also reportedly willing to include Victor Giocaris in the deal and a large cash component to meet Atlético’s high asking price.
