Arsenal intensifies bid for Newcastle captain Bruno Guimarães

Arsenal have launched a series of offers to sign Newcastle United midfielder and captain Bruno Guimarães. Initial reports said the club tabled a £55 million bid, which was rejected, followed by a £70 million proposal that was also turned down. More recent claims indicate Arsenal have put forward a package worth more than £75 million and that talks are progressing, although Newcastle maintain a valuation of £80‑100 million and have not confirmed any agreement.

Newcastle head coach Eddie Howe has publicly stated that there are “no talks” with Arsenal at the moment, while other sources argue that verbal offers have been exchanged. Bruno Guimarães is reported to have expressed a wish to move to North London, but the Magpies have warned that they will not sell the player for less than their asking price. Arsenal aim to complete the deal before the end of July 2026, ahead of the new season’s pre‑season camp.

Other transfer rumors – including a false report about striker Nick Woltemade – have also circulated, but the focus remains on the disputed negotiations for Guimarães.
