Arsenal set for ambitious transfer spending under Mikel Arteta
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta confirmed the club will be "really active" and "ambitious" in the upcoming transfer window. The Premier League champions have already added Christos Tzolis and Illan Meslier, and made Piero Hincapie’s loan from Bayer Leverkusen permanent. Arteta said the Gunners are targeting Newcastle United captain Bruno Guimarães in a deal worth up to £80 million and are also linked with Julian Álvarez and Real Madrid forward Vinícius Júnior.
Reports suggest forward Gabriel Martinelli could leave if Vinícius Júnior arrives, while striker Viktor Gyökeres is expected to stay despite earlier speculation. Arsenal aim to strengthen the squad to improve on last season’s title win and Champions League final appearance.
