Arsenal signs Axel Donczew and Habeeb Ogunneye

Arsenal has completed the signings of 16-year-old midfielder Axel Donczew and defender Habeeb Ogunneye as part of an aggressive recruitment drive for the club’s academy and youth ranks.

Donczew joins from Cardiff City as part of the club’s first-year scholarship intake. The Welsh youth international previously set a record as Cardiff’s youngest-ever player. He has also agreed to a pre-contract arrangement to sign professional terms when he turns 17.

Habeeb Ogunneye joins Arsenal on a free transfer from Manchester United. The deal reportedly includes a 40 per cent sell-on clause. Ogunneye is expected to primarily feature for the Arsenal U21s while receiving opportunities to train with the first team.
