Arsenal targets AS Roma midfielder Manu Koné in summer transfer push
Arsenal have opened talks with AS Roma about signing 23‑year‑old French midfielder Manu Koné. The London club is assessing a fee of roughly €40 million, which Roma could accept to comply with UEFA financial‑fair‑play rules ahead of the summer window. Earlier this year Roma valued Koné at €60‑65 million, but the club may be forced to sell to avoid sanctions.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta sees Koné as a way to add depth to the midfield and reduce reliance on players such as Declan Rice. While other Premier League giants and European sides have shown interest, Arsenal appear to be the most advanced in negotiations.
If the deal proceeds, Koné could replace senior midfielders at Arsenal and strengthen their title challenge in the Premier League.
