Arsenal targets Bayer Leverkusen defender Jarell Quansah

Arsenal has entered negotiations with Bayer Leverkusen regarding the potential transfer of defender Jarell Quansah. Mikel Arteta is seeking to strengthen his defensive options and values the 23-year-old English international for his versatility as both a center-back and right-back.

While Leverkusen is reluctant to sell the player, who has four years remaining on his contract, Arsenal may need to offer a sum significantly higher than the £30 million Leverkusen paid for him. Additionally, Liverpool reportedly holds a buy-back clause from Quansah's previous move to Germany.

Separately, reports suggest that FC Barcelona views Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta as a potential future successor to Hansi Flick. Although Arteta is currently focused on his project in London, his playing history in Barcelona's youth academy and his tactical philosophy make him a name of interest for the Catalan club.
