Arsenal urged to sell three players after Champions League final defeat
Former Arsenal midfielder Emmanuel Petit called on manager Mikel Arteta to offload three squad members in the upcoming summer transfer window. Petit said Arsenal lack "strong and powerful wingers with technical skills" and singled out Gabriel Martinelli, Gabriel Jesus and summer signing Noni Madueke as candidates for sale, while keeping Leandro Trossard.
The comments came after Arsenal’s 4‑3 penalty loss to Paris Saint‑Germain in the Champions League final, a match in which the English side held less than 25 % possession during the 120 minutes. The defeat followed Arsenal’s Premier League title win, and the club has faced criticism for a perceived "boring" style and over‑reliance on set‑pieces throughout the season.
