Arsenal Women sign Elisa de Almeida from PSG

Arsenal Women have reached an agreement to sign French defender Elisa de Almeida from Paris Saint-Germain. The transfer, estimated to be worth approximately €600,000, is expected to be finalized before the close of the women's transfer window.

The 28-year-old centre-back joins the Gunners to address a shortage in their defensive line caused by injuries. Specifically, the club has been lacking depth following Katie Reid's anterior cruciate ligament injury, which is not expected to see her return to play before November.

De Almeida brings significant international and club experience to the squad, having played over 150 matches for PSG. Her versatility allows her to play both as a centre-back and a right-back. Her recent career highlights include reaching the Champions League semi-finals and participating in the 2023 World Cup and 2025 European Championships.
