Arsenal targets Newcastle captain Bruno Guimarães with £70m bid
Arsenal have been pursuing Newcastle United captain Bruno Guimarães as a top priority for the summer. Reports say the Brazilian midfielder has agreed personal terms with the club and Arsenal are prepared to submit offers of around £70 million, with some sources citing a revised bid of £72.5 million (about €85 million) or even €82 million. Newcastle have publicly rejected earlier proposals of £55‑£65 million and insist the player is not for sale, estimating a valuation close to £90 million. Negotiations continue, with Arsenal hoping the improved offer will persuade Newcastle. The Gunners are also linked with other targets such as Julian Álvarez, Ezri Konsa and Bradley Barcola as they rebuild after winning the Premier League title.
