Arshdeep Singh names Chris Gayle top powerful batter, MS Dhoni second

Left‑arm seamer Arshdeep Singh, 27, released his personal ranking of the five most powerful batters in cricket. He placed West Indies opener Chris Gayle at number one, saying, “I don’t think anyone can hit the ball as cleanly or as far as he does.” Former India captain MS Dhoni was ranked second, followed by Indian all‑rounder Yuvraj Singh, Australian opener Matthew Hayden and fellow Australian Andrew Symonds.

During the interview Singh also discussed his imagined strategy for bowling the final over to Dhoni in an IPL match, joking that he would try to give Dhoni a single to bring the other batter on strike. In the IPL, Dhoni has already faced Singh, scoring 32 runs off 18 balls.
