Arshdeep Singh nears 150 T20I wickets in series against New Zealand

Indian left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh is approaching a historic milestone as India faces New Zealand in a five-match T20I series. Singh is currently five wickets away from becoming the first Indian bowler to reach 150 T20I wickets.

During the first T20I at Hagley Oval in Christchurch, Singh demonstrated his versatility by using football-style skills to run out New Zealand's Bevon Jacobs. Singh kicked the ball back onto the stumps to effect the dismissal after Jacobs attempted a quick single following a yorker.

In addition to the 150-wicket milestone, Singh is also close to breaking the record for the most T20I wickets taken by an Indian player in a single calendar year. He currently has 36 wickets in 2026, just two shy of Bhuvneshwar Kumar's 2022 record of 37 wickets.
