ARSN inspects Clinique les Oliviers radiology facilities
The National Authority for Radiation Protection and Nuclear Safety (ARSN) conducted an inspection of the radiology facilities at Clinique les Oliviers in Ouagadougou on August 25, 2026. Led by National Director Belko Massi Barry, the pre-authorization mission was initiated following a request from the clinic to operate a standard radiology device.
The inspection aimed to ensure compliance with Law No. 032-2012/AN regarding nuclear safety, security, and guarantees. Inspectors evaluated the radiology room dimensions, collective protection barriers, leaded windows, and individual protective equipment. They also reviewed personnel dosimetric monitoring devices and maintenance logs.
Quality control tests were performed to verify the technical characteristics of the equipment. According to Dr. Zakaria Yaméogo, Head of the Inspection, Control, and Radiological Surveillance Division, the process is designed to protect patients, workers, and the public from ionizing radiation by ensuring all technical and procedural requirements are met.
